New Track: Dating Is Hard

And with the vocal program mishap fixed, I've got a new track waiting impatiently to run out screaming for joy.

This upcoming week's track is sure to please. It's got vocals and that X-Factor that I know you all love. It's short, coming off of 1:42 unless I add some more before I upload it on Wednesday. But there will eventually be more added, it's a work in progress, but this NEEDS to see the light of day.

Dating Is Hard

...And I never wanna hear you say
That you're gonna find someone else today.
makes me wonder why I even try
To surprise and impress with these lies I profess.

Run your mouth in front of me.
Tell me just how hard life is for you
Like I just don't understand,
Like the life I lived is pointless to you.

Do you like my used car?
Have I said too much have I gone too far?
Do I impress thee?
I can tell you right now, it ain't like TV.
My heart's an earthquake boundary.

Love and Ciao,

Trevor.

New Weekly Track + Mike Felisman

Sorry it took until nearly midnight to upload a new track. Being unable to use a key part in laying down the vocals, I came close to throwing down an idea and sending it off, but remembered that there was something I had collaborated on with a newfound friend who's guitar-work is comparable to the likes of Pat Metheny. And though there are no vocals, I believe this track to have as much punch if not more (the ending is my favorite part, but the whole thing kicks serious ass).

I seriously suggest you listen to his work - it's VERY good. I'm not kidding, click on the damn link.

Mike Felisman's Myspace

I REALLY want to work with this guy in the future. The problem? As much as I love music, listening to music, reviewing music, laughing crying living through music, and ESPECIALLY making music, the life of an indie artist consists of having to work at, depending on the age and location, SHIT JOBS. Even though we, and get this, live RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET FROM EACH OTHER, he never seems to have any availability. He works over at the Mongolian BBQ and it seems to eat up his time.

What I want is to produce his first release, but he seems to take his gift lightly, which is frustrating. He doesn't talk about releasing anything in the future, but I'm here to make that a thing of the past. I want this guy to be KNOWN. He's got the gift of music that people NEED to hear.

Enjoy the new track and I hope I can get everything up and running again vocally by next week.

MORE Technical Difficulties

Technical difficulties with the program I use for vocals, but a fix is coming. Until then, this week's new track is going to lack vocals... but it's okay, I have the perfect thing to show you all.

---------------

Been thinking that I might switch LPS News to Twitter seeing how all I'm doing now is riding on the back of Black Adam News.

Expect LPS News to switch to Twitter soon. I'll provide the link when the time comes.

ANOTHER NEW PODCAST PLAY!!!

You know, they're coming so frequently now. It's reminding me of the days when Black Adam was in its prime... good times... I feel young again.

Radio Orphans Podcast - Episode 148 (plays automatically)

"No One Is Going To Help You" was featured.

You'll know when the song is being played because a picture of your's truly is shown. Their comments about the song can be heard near the end of the podcast.

NEW BIO UP!!!

New page layout as well. I thought I'd change it up and take the pre-made layout with the star on the top-left corner... like that?

-----------

Yes, yes, the new bio is up...

Throughout my entire life, I was surrounded by music. Growing up I heard the likes of "They Might Be Giants", "Peter Gabriel", and "R.E.M.", but it wasn't until I was twelve when my family acquired an old church piano and it was soon after that I found a knack for playing any song back by ear. I started lessons for a while, but had no choice but to stop because my parents divorced and I had to move away across the state to Kalamazoo.

While in Kalamazoo, I picked up the trombone. For five years that was the instrument I went by (but after a long battle of rust and a lack of upkeep, I would later dropped it altogether). I also started writing quite a lot around that time - poetry, short stories, lyrics, etc. I remember using up my lunch time in elementary to sit behind a prop desk on the main stage to write lyrics and such.

I won't deny it - I had a difficult childhood. Mental and physical abuse was a common thing in the household, but that only strengthened my passion for the arts, if only in my head.

Liberation came in 2002 and I finally had a chance to go somewhere, though I wouldn't realize what my calling was until I started screwing around with Adobe Audition pre-recorded samples. I made my first unreleased album (I just know the master copy is around here somewhere...). Once the unused samples that they gave me with the software ran dry, I knew that moving onto a bigger program was inevitable. Usher in Propellerheads Reason.

In early 2004 Black Adam formed. Little did I know the first tracks for UV were being created as well. It was quite obvious (and at times painfully) that I was such an amateur at knowing how to work the program.

2004 came along and I was introduced to podcasting, more specifically "Podsafe Music Network". I put up several tracks and before I knew it, I was being featured on podcasts left and right. At one point, two of the tracks reached the top ten list for the Electronic genre on the HQ site for podcasting: Podshow.

January 2005 - 'UV' is released and as Black Adam was still being featured on podcasts, I receded back to the studio and went straight for the second release, "The Special Kid Is You".

Since 2004, Reason has been my Sound Creator and Editor (with Audition being used for fade-ins and fade-outs). It's been a love/hate relationship, mostly love because the program offers so much in terms of infinite sound possibilities, but once you start thinking big, the mastering and editing of Reason just can't meet up with industry standards. I know that sooner or later, I'm going to have to learn Logic or ProTools.

In 2008, Black Adam took a back seat. Little Plastic Stars takes the stage.

This is Little Plastic Stars.

----------------

Trying to come up with a new track for this week... I usually hit something by now (and I know I've got a while 'till Wednesday), but I might just lay down some piano bit.

Trevor.
